Every sermon is rooted in the authority of Scripture. We preach the Word faithfully, expounding the Bible verse by verse.
We cultivate a genuine family atmosphere where every member is known, loved, and cared for in the spirit of Christ.
Prayer is the heartbeat of our church. We believe in a God who hears and answers, and we seek Him together.
We are called to reach our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. Soul-winning and evangelism are central to our mission.
Join us for worship, fellowship, and the Word of God throughout the week.
An independent Baptist church committed to God's Word, His glory, and the good of our community in Princes Town, Trinidad.
Cornerstone Baptist Church was founded in Princes Town, Trinidad. Its first service was held on November 5, 2017, and it was formally incorporated on August 23, 2019. The constitution is grounded in Biblical principles and aims to guide the church in practicing New Testament Christianity. The church is officially named Cornerstone Baptist Church of Princes Town, Trinidad.
This church shall be known as Cornerstone Baptist Church, an independent, autonomous, Bible-believing congregation located in Craignish Village, Princes Town, Trinidad and Tobago, operating under the Lordship of Jesus Christ alone.
To maintain regular worship, proclaim the Gospel, promote systematic Bible study, support world missions through prayer and giving, and serve the community through charitable, religious, and educational activities. Evangelism is the church's "preeminent and perennial responsibility."
We believe the Holy Bible β specifically the 1611 Authorized King James Version β is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is our supreme authority in all matters of faith, practice, and church governance (66 books, Genesis to Revelation).
Membership is open to those 18 and older who have professed faith in Christ, provided a conversion testimony, been baptized by immersion, attended for 3 months, and received Pastor and Deacon approval. Membership may be terminated by transfer, withdrawal, prolonged absence, or discipline.
Cornerstone Baptist Church is a fully autonomous, independent Baptist church. We uphold the priesthood of all believers, the autonomy of the local church, and the separation of church and state. We are not affiliated with any denomination or convention.
We observe two ordinances: (1) Believer's Baptism by immersion as a public testimony of salvation β a prerequisite to church membership β and (2) The Lord's Supper, observed as a memorial of Christ's atoning sacrifice until He returns.
Members of Cornerstone Baptist Church receive the King James Bible as the inspired Word of God and affirm:
Our constitution contains 24 detailed articles of faith covering the full scope of Biblical doctrine:
The KJV Bible (66 books) is supernaturally inspired, truth without error, and the only complete and final revelation of God's will β the supreme standard for all human conduct.
One living God β infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. In the unity of the Godhead are three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection.
A divine person equal with the Father and Son. He was active in creation, convicts of sin and righteousness, bears witness to the Gospel, and seals, guides, sanctifies, and helps the believer.
Once holy, Satan fell through pride. He is now man's great tempter, the enemy of God, the author of all false religions and the present apostasy β destined for final defeat and eternal judgment.
We believe the Genesis account literally β man created directly in God's image. Creation was not a matter of evolution or development over long periods from lower to higher forms of life.
Man was created innocent but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless state. As a result, all mankind are now sinners β not by constraint but by choice β and are under just condemnation.
Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner, born of Mary β a virgin β as no other man was ever born. He is both the Son of God and God the Son.
Salvation is wholly of grace through the Son of God. His death was a voluntary substitution β the just dying for the unjust. He bore our sins in His own body and is now our all-sufficient Saviour.
To be saved, sinners must be born again. The new birth is instantaneous β not a process. It is brought about by the Holy Spirit, resulting in a new creature in Christ with eternal life freely given.
We believe in God's electing grace β the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the Gospel. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own rejection of the Gospel.
Justification includes the pardon of sin and the gift of eternal life. It is bestowed not through works of righteousness, but solely through faith in the Redeemer's blood β His righteousness imputed to us.
The new birth is a one-time event. Because salvation is entirely God's work, and our keeping is entirely God's work, nothing "shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Christ rose bodily the third day. He will return personally and visibly. The dead in Christ shall rise, living saints shall be changed, and Christ shall reign a thousand years until all enemies are put under His feet.
The command to preach the Gospel to the world is clear and given to the church. We believe in scriptural giving β tithes and offerings to the local church systematically, cheerfully, as a gauge of our love for God.
Marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. We believe the family is the foundational institution of society, with the husband as leader of the home and men as leaders of the church.
Civil government is of divine appointment for the good order of human society. Magistrates are to be prayed for and obeyed β with the exception only of things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The church recognizes two offices: Pastors (also called elders/bishops) who serve as the sole spiritual authority, and Deacons who handle temporal and social matters under the pastor's direction. Deacons are not a governing board β they support and protect the pastor's ministry.
The church follows a structured biblical process: (1) private confrontation, (2) mediation with witnesses, (3) church action initiated by the pastor, and (4) exclusion from fellowship if unresolved. Civil lawsuits between members are discouraged β arbitration by neutral Christian arbitrators is preferred.
Amendments must be submitted in writing at a business meeting and voted on at a later meeting. No amendment may be adopted that contradicts the clear teachings of Scripture. The constitution was last revised in November 2019.
The pastor serves as the spiritual overseer of the congregation, called of God to preach the Word, shepherd the flock, and lead the church in accordance with Scripture (1 Timothy 3:1β7; Titus 1:5β9).
Our deacons are men of proven character who serve the practical needs of the church body, supporting the pastor and freeing him to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:1β7; 1 Timothy 3:8β13).

The Church Clerk maintains official records of the congregation, minutes of business meetings, membership rolls, and correspondence, ensuring the organized administration of the church family.
